Living room painting

The next room to get painted was the pink(!) living room. My mom first fixed up some small drywall issues with mud.

When I took the (oversized) return vent cover off I discovered a message from the previous owners.

And then painted it an off white. The color is Behr's Creme Brulee 370A-1.

The other wall was painted as well. The two side walls haven't been painted yet because we lacked a ladder. My mom also suggested painting it a slightly darker color, which I think would be a good idea.

Dining room painting

After removing the wall paper from the stair wall, there was a smaller amount in the dining area that also had to be removed.

And then the wall and ceiling needed to be painted.

I also replaced the (in my opinion) ugly switches with some modern Decora style ones.
Finished result:

Wall paper removal

Removing the dark wall paper from the wall right infront of the entrance was the next thing I wanted to do. In addition to being not very attractive, it also made the whole room a lot darker. My mom bought some scrapers and a spray bottle to wet it down and scrape it off, though some parts proved harder to get off than others.

Here's where it all went. . .

This last bit was out of my mom's reach.

But I could get it.

One thing that's better about living in the northeast, better cell phone service, at least from t-mobile.
